Michel studied law at Université Laval, where he also completed a Master’s degree in international relations.
Over the years, he has developed a wealth of knowledge on the legal framework of private and public pension plans and advises clients on these topics. He also authored the book L’assurance collective en milieu de travail, the second edition of which was published in 2006 by Éditions Yvon Blais. Michel is currently working on a third edition.
He represents insured persons in litigation involving disability insurance and also practices in labour law. He frequently represents clients before judicial bodies and arbitration tribunals, as well as in alternative methods of dispute resolution.
Michel is a frequent speaker at conferences. For twenty years, he was involved in the certificate program in insurance medicine and expertise offered by the Faculty of Medicine at the Université de Montréal. He also chaired the liaison committee between the Barreau du Québec and the Conférence des arbitres du Québec from 2013 to 2017.
